About Switch To Free
SwitchToFree.com helps you find free software for study, work, and everyday tasks. We gather alternatives for editing documents, creating images, organizing files, and more.
Free software, no piracy
You do not need pirated copies or activators to use good tools. Our catalog lists programs you can use for free, within each developer's rules.
We prefer open-source programs. That means the code used to build the software can be viewed, studied, and modified under its license.
How we choose software
We look for useful tools recognized by the community. Our selection follows these criteria:
- Priority for open-source programs when a solid option exists.
- Freemium tools appear only when the free tier is already useful for everyday work — not just a short trial.
- Every listing links to the developer’s official site. We do not host installers, cracks, or activators.
- We do not recommend unauthorized streams, pirate IPTV lists, or downloads of protected media.
It is not possible to personally test hundreds of catalog programs across every version, system, and use case. Part of the curation — research, organization, and checking public information — is done with help from artificial intelligence, always with human review of the criteria above. Listing a program does not guarantee it will work perfectly on your computer.
Before downloading, check the official site for free features, usage rules, and compatibility with your device.
An independent project
We choose programs for quality and community reputation. We do not sell catalog placement. If a tool helps you, consider supporting its developers.
